Transportation Department

Student Behavior Contract

The main concern of the transportation Department of the Cleveland City Schools is the Safety of your children. In order to provide for the safe and most efficient transportation of your children we need your cooperation in assisting us with helping the students understand the importance of following bus safety rules.

Listed below are six common-sense rules for bus safety which, if followed, will help ensure a safe and orderly movement of students to and from school and on field trips.

Please review the safety rules with your child and become a partner with us by signing the behavior contract so that we will have a clear understanding of the expectations of the Transportation Department.

Walk to your seat, sit and stay in your assigned seat.

No drugs, weapons, radios, pets, food, gum, drinks, or tobacco products on buses.

Do not speak loudly or shout, throw objects, or use profane language or fight.

Keep aisles clear and keep hands and arms to yourself and inside the bus. Always practice safety.

Respect the property of others. Do not take or damage what is not yours.

Respect the authority of the bus driver.
