SCHOOL DISMISSAL PROCEDURES

Please consider the following in the event an early school dismissal is necessary due to bad weather conditions:

1.Please listen/tune in to any of the following:   WBAC, 1340 AM; WALV 95.3 FM; TV Channel 3, 9, or 12

   They will have the information as to school dismissal.

2.Take time TODAY to discuss and explain to your child the specific alternative plans/arrangements you have made for your child's care and safety (i.e., transportation and child care).

   Questions suggested for your consideration might be:

   (1)    if the buses run and I am not home, where will he/she go?

   (2)    is there someone who can come to school to meet my child?

3.It is extremely important that both your child and the school know the alternative "dismissal" procedure.

IF YOUR CHILD IS TO LEAVE SCHOOL IN ANY OTHER WAY THAN WHAT IS THE USUAL:

IMPORTANT- Please help us by filling out the form at the bottom of this memo and returning it to school immediately.  It will be kept on file with your child's teacher in the classroom.

4.Parents picking up children before official notification of the closing of school will need to check in with the office.

5.If the buses do not run or if a parent cannot reach the school to pick up his/her child, students will be centrally located in the gym.  Mrs. Ingram, or other school personnel will stay with the children until parent or designated person arrives.
