We are excited to announce that six CCC teachers have written grants that were funded by Bradley Cleveland Public Education Foundation. These grants, totaling over $14,000, are funded by donors to the BCPEF and will support our students in many different ways.
Emily Elliott and Stacy Carson teamed up to write a grant called "Calming Corners and Soothing Spots" that will provide resources in every classroom that will support students and assist them in regulating their emotions and feelings when they're experiencing elevated emotions.
Ann Collins and Caleb Shelton submitted a grant called "We're Movin' On Up to Chapter Books!" that will fund the purchase of 335 transitional chapter books for our school library. These books are specifically for students in grades 1-3 and are just right in length, content, and readability, supporting their transition from picture books to longer chapter books.
"Once Upon a Time... Fairy Tales in the Music Classroom" was developed by Lesley Avery and Brittany Stephens. Mrs. Avery will be teaming up with first grade teachers to provide supplemental instruction during their language arts unit on fairy tales. Students will help create melodies and retell stories during music class using mallet instruments purchased with grant funds.
We are looking forward to seeing these grants support our Thunderbirds for many years.
