Our first graders are spending the day wrapping up their literacy Knowledge Unit, The Human Body. Ask a first grader about the body's framework, muscles, and their favorite "Chew, Swallow, Squeeze, and Churn."
Yesterday was International Dot Day. In library, 3rd-5th grade students participated in a Growth Mindset STEAM Dot Challenge to build the tallest tower possible with only 12 index cards and 20 dot stickers.
Dr. Booklove and her students talked a lot about having a growth mindset and not quitting, even when things get hard. Some of the students got frustrated and wanted to quit. They said they just couldn't do it, but with some encouragement, they were successful! Dr. Booklove was one proud "library lady." As you can see, there's a lot more to library class than just books and reading.
