The third graders were practicing vocabulary strategies today in English/Language Arts. Mrs. Hundley’s class was using pictures and actions, while Mrs. Ellis’ crew were completing a Freyer Model. Learning can occur in many different forms. Keep up the good work third grade!
The 3rd graders are in the garden today. They’ve discussed how the different parts of a bean help to support the growth of the plant… AND found a caterpillar and butterflies! #lifecycles #experientiallearning
So proud of this crew… They’ve worked hard and it’s paid off! Congratulations on your academic accomplishments! #beingbilingualistheirSUPERPOWER #amazingteachers #terrifickiddos #ccsrowtheboat #grsloveyourpeople
Students are discussing the differences in affirmations and compliments this week. Loved hearing from one of our fifth graders about how she is taking what she’s learned and applying it at home. @capturingkidshearts #grsloveyourpeople #ccsrowtheboat
S/O to Mrs. Vaugh & Mrs. Setliffe for creating an amazing space for our kiddos to explore #STEAM topics 🔬🧪🧮💻🎨🖌
It was a GREAT morning at #theGRS! Coach Kiser had interviews with students on announcements. They shared why a greeting is important to build our community. Then, our first graders worked on creating a #socialcontract @iheartckh #grsloveyourpeople #ccsrowtheboat
Good evening Stuart family!!!
Tomorrow is our first celebration in over a year. We are so excited to kick off our school year. Celebration will begin around 8:05. Students who ride the bus will be here in time, but car riders need to make sure to arrive no later than 8:00, so they can participate. This is a fun time with our school family and to get to know our other "Pack members." (All students have chosen a pack and should wear their pack colors.)
See you in the morning!
Mrs. Shelton
Welcome to Stuart Mrs. Ellis. We are so glad to have you in our Bulldog family! 🐶🐾❤️
All students' proof of residence are due this week. Please bring/send in your Cleveland utility bill, lease agreement or mortgage statement. You may also choose to take a photo of one of these documents and email it to: jhiggins@clevelandschools.org
Students' proof of residence must be submitted by Friday, August 13th.
Thank you,
R. Shelton
Bender Realty, LLC cares for us so well. Thank you for the sweet treats to wrap up our first week of school! #BESTpartner @clechamber #grsloveyourpeople #ccsrowtheboat
What is needed to make a school great… a happy team! Thanks Coach Kiser for the perfect end to our first week of school! #happysalmongame #rockpaperscissors #teambuildinggames #grsloveyourpeople
Just like in a garden, we are all different… Ms. Coulston is reading “Just Ask” by Sonia Sotomayor
The students are discussing how we may all have differences in our learning and actions, and that is ok… if we don’t understand someone, we should just ask. #grsloveyourpeople
Please remember, today, Friday, August 6th is an abbreviated day. We served breakfast, but will not be serving lunch. Stuart Elementary will dismiss at 11:30. The buses will begin their routes around this time, as well. The Boys & Girls Club van will NOT run today.
Ms. Gowin & Mr. Jenkins’ reconnection group is really enjoying their lunch time to socialize… and act a little silly. #loveyourpeople
The welcoming team was all smiles this morning. We are so glad to welcome students to their Reconnection Day! #loveyourpeople #ccsrowtheboat
Welcome back, Bulldogs... We can't believe that it's time to start school next week!
Just a reminder...
All returning students should have registered. If you have not please do so, by TOMORROW, July 23. Simply go to ccs.powerschool.com and use the login information you entered last year. If you do not remember your information, you can contact the school 423-476-8246 or email pshelp@clevelandschools.org. Spanish-speaking families can contact Maria Herrero at (423) 228-0106, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
If you have registered, you are welcome to attend our "Meet the Teacher Night" on Monday, August 2, from 5-7pm for grades 1st-5th. Our kindergarten families will have an English-speaking meeting at 5pm and a Spanish-speaking meeting at 6pm.
If you have any questions or need assistance, we are here for you. Simply reach out to us. We cannot wait to see everyone again on August 2nd, and remember we need your online registration completed by TOMORROW.
Thank you & have a good afternoon,
Mrs. Shelton
Families who have registered online by JULY 23rd...
We cannot wait to see you in a few weeks! Meet the Teacher Night will be drop-in from 5-7pm on August 2nd. Parents who have registered online will be allowed to come to the classrooms to drop off supplies, materials fees ($25 for materials & $10 for class shirt), meet the staff and tour the building. We will give out car tags and important information in printed form (both Spanish and English). This is not a sit-down Parent Meeting, nor is it a registration night. It is simply a Meet and Greet. You should register online no later than JULY 23rd (continue reading for details about registration help and those who do not have technological devices).
Online registration opened on July 7th for returning students who finished the year with us in May 2021. An email was sent to the address used to register/enroll last year. (This is the same email used to log into your Powerschool account to see your child's grades and attendance.) New students, such as incoming kindergarteners, or those who did not end the school year with us, must complete the New Student Enrollment at www.clevelandschools.org/enrollment.
If you are having difficulty registering online, email: pshelp@clevelandschools.org. For Spanish-speaking families who need assistance, contact Maria Herrero at (423) 228-0106. If you do not have a smartphone or technology device, contact Janice Blair at (423) 472-9571, ext. 2002. Class placements for grades 1-5 were sent home with the students in May. However, your child is not officially placed in a class until families complete the online registration. It should be completed no later than JULY 23rd.
Newly enrolled students will receive a call or mailed letter with information about class placements. Returning students were initially placed in classes and letters/supply lists were sent home in May, stating who your child's teacher will be. However, returning students can only remain on rosters if they are REGISTERED online.
Kindergarteners who have enrolled online will meet both Kindergarten teachers on August 2nd, and will come on the designated Reconnection Days (see the calendar for details) as a group. They will be divided into classes on Friday, August 6th.
We look forward to seeing all those who have registered/enrolled on August 2!
