The Human Resources Department welcomes motivated individuals with professional qualifications and interpersonal skills to join Cleveland City Schools. The department is committed to ensuring Cleveland City Schools hires, develops, and retains a highly skilled and motivated workforce required for effective teaching and student learning in our schools.
In May, the Cleveland City Board of Education approved the 2024-2025 budget which included pay raises for all full-time employees and increased the starting teacher's salary to a minimum of $52,500 per year. This action demonstrates our unwavering support for our educators and recognizes their invaluable contributions to our students' lives.
Cleveland City Schools hires substitute teachers through our staffing partner, StaffEZ. Cleveland City Schools' daily pay rates are $100 per day for certified teachers, $90 per day for individuals with a four-year degree, and $85 per day for other qualified applicants. To be eligible to substitute for Cleveland City Schools, applicants must have at least an Associate's degree or 48 college credit hours, or pass a basic skills test if holding a high school diploma.
