The Cleveland City Schools transportation department is responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation to over 1,600 students each school day on nearly 50 routes, including special education routes. Our department is committed to ensuring that all students arrive at school on time and ready to learn. In addition, the transportation department provides buses for school field trips and extracurricular activities.

In April of 2023, the Cleveland City Board of Education voted unanimously to approve start times to improve the consistency of bus routes. Board members voted unanimously to select Option 3, which was the option selected by families and staff members through a survey. Students at Cleveland Middle and High Schools will attend class from 7:30 to 2:30 p.m. while elementary school students will attend from 8:30 to 3:30 p.m. for the 2024-2025 school year. In addition, our school board members voted unanimously to increase bus driver pay to the hourly rate of $28, with a minimum of five hours a day. Monitor pay is $12.44, with a minimum of five hours a day.

If you have any questions or concerns about our transportation services, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to serve you and your children.
