Cleveland City Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Mrs. Sara Whitener as the new principal of Candy's Creek Cherokee Elementary School. Mrs. Whitener's extensive experience and dedication to education make her the ideal candidate to lead Candy's Creek Cherokee Elementary School into its next chapter of success.
Having served as Assistant Principal since 2019, Mrs. Whitener has already made significant contributions to the Thunderbird family at Candy's Creek Cherokee Elementary School. She has been instrumental in applying for the school's STEM designation, overseeing the RaidersXD after-school tutoring program, and implementing various initiatives aimed at enhancing student engagement and academic achievement.

Mrs. Whitener's background includes serving as an Instructional Facilitator at Mayfield Elementary School, where she played a pivotal role in enhancing instructional practices and promoting professional development among teachers. Her experience spans various educational settings, from rural to metropolitan public schools, reflecting her adaptability and commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students and communities.
