Cleveland City Schools Staff and CTE Programs Unite to Support Families Impacted by Pediatric Cancer

Cleveland City Schools (CCS) recently showed the power of community as staff members united to support families affected by pediatric cancer. Spearheading this initiative were the Raider Evolve and Culinary Arts Academy programs, which offered staff the opportunity to purchase meals and special shirts, raising $1,100 for local families.

CCS's Career and Technical Education (CTE) program prepares students for real-world success, with pathways like culinary arts, business, engineering, and health sciences. By blending academic knowledge with hands-on skill-building, these programs aim to equip students for high-demand fields and future success, often with a focus on community impact. In Raider Evolve, students gain practical business and manufacturing skills through real-world projects, while Culinary Arts immerses them in the culinary industry’s demands, preparing them for certifications and advanced training.

CTE Supervisor Randy Stephens emphasized that this event demonstrated the program’s vision: students learning through service and skill. By bringing staff and students together for such a meaningful cause, CCS shows that its educational approach goes beyond academics, fostering a spirit of empathy and community support.
