Cleveland Middle School is proud to announce that it will host the first-ever Tennessee Middle School Athletic Association (TMSAA) Wrestling State Championships on December 13th and 14th. This historic event marks a major milestone for middle school wrestling in Tennessee and will feature top talent from 50 different schools across the state. The two-day tournament will showcase both boys’ and girls’ wrestling competitions, bringing together teams and individual athletes who have earned their place at the state level.
On Friday, December 13th, the boys’ Dual Meet State Championships will take place, featuring teams from across Tennessee. Champions from four sections in both Class A and Class AA will face off in semifinal matchups, with winners advancing to the state championship finals.
Friday Schedule:
● 3:30 PM ET – Gates open
● 4:30 PM ET – Weigh-ins
● 5:30 PM ET – Semifinals
● 7:30 PM ET – Finals & 3rd place matches
On Saturday, December 14th, the girls’ traditional wrestling tournament will feature 8-person brackets in each weight class. The top two wrestlers from each sectional will compete for state titles. CMS is honored to have several athletes competing in the girls’ state championship this Saturday. The following athletes will represent CMS in the Girl’s Traditional Championship:
● 225 lbs: La`Kyla Dodd
● 180 lbs: Lyrik Wright
● 145 lbs: Emma Thompson
● 135 lbs: Kailee Miller
● 128 lbs: Hope Blake
● 121 lbs: Brystol Potter
● 93 lbs: Jaylee Ernest
Saturday Schedule:
● 8:00 AM ET – Gates open
● 9:00 AM ET – Weigh-ins
● 10:00 AM ET – Wrestling begins

Tickets can be purchased in advance through GoFan for $8 per person, per day, or at the gate for $10 per person, per day. Children 5 and under are free. Parking will be available for $5 per vehicle per day, with passes available for purchase in advance or upon arrival.

Concessions will be available both days, and official TMSAA Championship merchandise will be on sale on-site, courtesy of Northwest Designs.
