The Cleveland Middle School Wrestling Team and their coaches were celebrated on Monday, January 27, 2025, as Cleveland City Mayor Kevin Brooks issued an official proclamation declaring โBlue Raider Wrestling Day.โ This honor recognized the teamโs groundbreaking achievements in the inaugural TMSAA wrestling state championships.
Cleveland Middle School made history as the first-ever TMSAA Class AA Dual Wrestling State Champions, defeating Blackman Middle School 46-29 in a decisive final match on December 13, 2024. This remarkable accomplishment was the culmination of months of preparation, dedication, and teamwork, as the Blue Raiders earned their spot by winning the sectional tournament.
The teamโs success didnโt end there. Cleveland Middle School also excelled in the first-ever TMSAA Girls' Wrestling State Championships held on December 14, 2024. Competing against top talent from across the state, Clevelandโs own Brystol Potter and Kailee Miller emerged as individual state champions, further cementing the schoolโs reputation as a leader in youth wrestling.
