CCC Expansion Celebration

Excitement filled the air at Candy’s Creek Cherokee Elementary as students, parents, teachers, Board members, and community members came together on Tuesday, February 25, to celebrate the school’s much-anticipated expansion. The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked a new chapter for the school, showcasing the incredible classroom additions that will enhance learning experiences for years to come.

Principal Sara Whitener emphasized that this milestone represents not just new spaces but also the opportunities they will bring for students. The expansion reflects a strong investment in the future of education, ensuring that every student has the resources needed to thrive as Cleveland continues to grow.

Director of Cleveland City Schools, Dr. Jeff Elliott, expressed the district’s commitment to supporting students through thoughtful growth and development. The vision for this project has now become a reality, reinforcing the district’s dedication to providing high-quality learning environments.

Since opening in August 2019, Candy’s Creek Cherokee Elementary has built a reputation for excellence. The school has earned prestigious recognitions, including Reward School status from the State of Tennessee (2021-2022) and STEM Designation from TSIN and the Tennessee Department of Education (2024-2028).

The expansion represents more than just a physical addition to the school—it is a reflection of the ongoing commitment to students and the future being built for them.

With this expansion now complete, Candy’s Creek Cherokee Elementary is prepared to continue its mission of providing top-tier education in an environment where students feel inspired, supported, and empowered.
