Cleveland City Schools has brought a familiar face to lead the Athletic Department at Cleveland High School this year.
Al Morris has joined Cleveland High School as the new Athletics and Activities Director.
“After being gone for 11 years, I am ecstatic to be coming back to my hometown to help provide valuable life-experiences and networking opportunities for athletes through sports,” Morris said. “My family and I will be completely invested in the Cleveland community and will embrace the opportunity to work with everyone within this new role.”
Morris was a standout football player and state champion wrestler at Bradley Central High School. After graduation, he went on to play football at Lambuth University. He has a degree in Exercise Science from Middle Tennessee State University. Morris and his family have spent the last 11 years in Tullahoma where Morris served as the Head Wrestling Coach at Tullahoma High School. It’s an exciting time for the Morris family as Al’s wife, Jenna, will also serve as an English teacher at Cleveland High School.
“We are excited to see what great things they will do for our school and community,” said CHS Principal Bob Pritchard.
