Cleveland High School's Lady Raiders Volleyball team will compete in the TSSAA Volleyball State Championship this week.
Head Coach Amy McGowan said the team is excited to head back to the state championship for the second year in a row. Last year, the Lady Raiders finished third in the state championship, which is the best finish at state in the program's history.
"It was the first time a lot of these players had been to the state championship before," McGowan said. "I think they have more confidence this year."
Students at CHS held a send-off for the team Monday afternoon. Members of the band, cheer team, and dance team cheered on the Lady Raiders as they left for Murfreesboro.
Lady Raiders will take on Houston at 1 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Rockvale High School, which is just outside of Murfreesboro.
